Hey there!
As I’m sure you’ve guessed, my name is Jonathan Dewitt. I live in San Diego, CA and I work as a freelance Web Developer all around San Diego County. In 2006, I got my Bachelors of Science, Media Arts degree from Platt College, San Diego. Since my schooling has been finished, I’ve worked for multiple companies, big and small, and I already have a lot of experience under my belt.
I didn’t always want to be a designer. When I was a kid, I, like many others I’m sure, wanted to be a police officer. However, around the time I was 10, I was given my first art book by an aunt. I really liked spending my time drawing, but it never dawned on me that it could help me make money until well into high school. Even when I was making cartoon fan websites on Geocities back in 1998, I hadn’t thought of the idea of doing it professionally. High school came, and I had joined an “Academy of Information Technology.” Many of the elective classes were replaced with tech-oriented ones, one of which was HTML coding. This is when I decided what I really wanted to do. Somewhere in the midst of framesets and table code, I told myself that HTML was where the fun was.
Six months before I graduated high school, I stumbled upon – and ultimately decided to attend – Platt College. I spent the next few years there learning all I could, and I feel it has paid off. These days, I spend my time learning the ins-and-outs of PHP, Javascript and Ruby. I’m always looking to expand my knowledge base, and I’m always looking to help others expand their presence online. If it sounds like I may be a good fit for your project or company, drop me a line!
